Details:
By using the extensive video and
photographic work done by SeaView Imaging, members of the
Ontario Marine Heritage Committee successfully identify the
1850's schooner.
The shipwreck remains as one of the
most intact 1800's sailing vessels in the Great
Lakes.
Three other Long Point wreck
discoveries are revealed. The "Bob Paule" wreck shows
how scientists use the wrecks to study the geological
processes around Long Point.
A sunken scow of unknown identity
stands out among the rest of the Great Lakes shipwrecks due to
it's unusual construction.
The wreck of the famous "Sir C.T. Van Straubenzie" is
portrayed as well. With one mast still standing,
this shipwreck reveals what happens to a vessel that
is sent to the bottom from a violent collision.
